Revising and Revisiting My 12 Month Goals

I’m not really into “new year’s resolutions” because I think (with few exceptions) it’s unrealistic to set a goal that I don’t plan to actually work on until after a specific date. However, since I began my journey of putting the broken pieces of my life back together, I’ve always kept 3, 6, and 12 month goals and the coming of the new year is always my favorite time to revisit and revise them. Unfortunately, I don’t have my physical list of goals with me since I’m not at home for this New Years, but I think I still remember some of them because I keep my list short. Regardless, I still wrote out my 12 month goals that I’d like to achieve in 2019 and I’m still working on my action plan for each one. My list, as always, is relatively short (it’s not in order):

  1. Turn 26
  2. Graduate from college
  3. Grow my hair to mid-back length
  4. Improve my Japanese
  5. Become healthier spiritually, physically, and nutritionally
  6. Grow closer to God
  7. Move to Okinawa, Japan
  8. Be more creative

Despite being such a short list, there’s a lot that needs to go into accomplishing each goal and they’ll be as complicated as I make them. 2018 was filled with events that I never saw coming and needed more than I could’ve imagined. I learned to redirect my energy towards my own health and happiness, so that I’m able to help others when the time is right. I’m looking forward to 2019 and every year after it because I’m really enjoying the taste of lemonade made from the bitter lemons of life.

  1. I’m with you with the hair growing! Mine is mid length, but I have terribly short layers 👺
Hot oil treatments and massages actually work. Even doing the “inversion method”. 👌
